Fortis hospital Greater Noida performs life-saving operation and rescues four-year-old with coin stuck in windpipe
Greater Noida, Sunday evening, the doctors of Fortis Hospital Greater Noida showed promptness and saved the life of a 4-year-old child. The child accidentally swallowed a coin while playing at home. The family members immediately brought the child to the emergency ward of Fortis Hospital, Greater Noida.
Seeing the critical condition of the child, Dr. Apoorv Pandey, Consultant, Gastroenterology at Fortis Hospital, Greater Noida, immediately got an X-ray done. Dr. Apoorv Pandey said, "X-ray revealed that the coin was stuck in the child's trachea. Our team started the endoscopy procedure to remove the coin. Unfortunately during this time the coin slipped and went into the child's stomach, due to which a new challenge was raised for the team , but after tireless efforts of the team, the coin was successfully taken out late in the night."
The four-year-old child is now healthy and safe. After thorough care in the hospital, the child is sent back home. The child's family expressed happiness over the promptness of the doctors.
