Lucknow, 6 November, 2023: A grand ceremony celebrating the preservation of tradition and heritage, "Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Resham Ratna Samman Samaroh" was hosted during the Uttar Pradesh State Mega Expo 2023 from November 3 to 11. This distinguished event was organized by the Uttar Pradesh Silk Directorate, Uttar Pradesh Khadi and Village Industries, Mati Kala Board, MSME, Handloom, and the Central Silk Board, Government of India.
Mr. Rakesh Sachan, Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Khadi and Village Industries, Silk, Handloom, and Textiles Department, Uttar Pradesh, graced the occasion. He presented the prestigious awards to the farmers,weavers, handloom workers, and fashion designers associated with the Silk Industry who are working towards its success. Speaking on the occasion he said that "Silk department under the able guidance of Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath is committed to safeguard and promote the state's traditional heritage, with a particular focus on the resham (silk) industry
This grand event also marked the launch of the "Resham Mitra Portal" and the unveiling of the "Resham Mitra Patrika." These initiatives will serve as platforms for scientists,entrepreneurs, and experts involved in various aspects of silk production, weaving, and design to share their innovations and promote employment opportunities.
In the Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Resham Ratna Award ceremony, Hon. Minister Shri Rakesh Sachan, Shri R. Ramesh Kumar, Principal Secretary (Silk), Shri Sunil Kumar Verma, Special Secretary/Director (Silk), Shri P. Shiv Kumar, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board (Government of India), Omprakash Gola Prajapati, Chairman of Mati Kala Board, Mati Kala General Manager of the Board Shri Arun Prakash, Additional Chief Secretary, Khadi and Village Industries Shri Amit Mohan Prasad and scientists, departmental officers of various institutions of the Central Silk Board, cocoon producers, silk entrepreneurs, weavers and farmers participated in large numbers.
